Why Health Coaching?

After taking over Twisted Tree Cafe with Mark, it didn’t take long for us to figure out that this wasn’t just a stop to get a quick bite. People were coming there in droves, confused about their doctor’s new orders to cut out meat, gluten, dairy and just about every other food group there is. They were attracted to our restaurant because of our accommodations on the menu but I couldn’t help think that maybe fate played a part. Not only do I have my own extreme allergies but my passion, for as long as I could remember, was about nutrition and the effects that different physical activity, herbs, foods, and supplements had on the body.

I did the very best I could to help everyone who came through our door. After successfully helping many of our customers with their diets (along with countless friends and family) I knew that I couldn’t just serve the food in our restaurant, I had to spread the knowledge of how to feed our bodies the right way after being introduced to the wrong foods and eating styles for so long. I had to spread the message of sustainability, the importance of clean food, and going back to basics in order to heal and encourage our bodies to work the way they were intended to, regardless of age!

Right around this time IIN (Institute of Integrative Nutrition in NYC) kept popping up. After doing some research I was truly taken by the way they connected nutrition and emotional health, and the way all of their objectives aligned perfectly with mine.

A year and tons of amazing information later…here I am, a certified Health Coach, ready to help as many people as I can!

My job as a Health Coach is to offer services and fill gaps that doctors, and nutritionists do not have time or resources to fill. A Health Coach is a wellness authority, and supportive mentor who motivates and holds their clients accountable, in order for them to live their best life. My focus is on defining a clear path to cultivate positive choices, no matter what obstacles there may be. This coaching can cover a multitude of topics, such as relationships, career, physical activity, spirituality, nutrition, diets and so much more!
